JODHA: DEMI-COUTURE WOMENS OCCASIONWEAR LABEL MAKES ITS HONG KONG DEBUT
Your Life Is The Occasion; Celebrate It With JODHA
JODHA, an all-new special occasion wear offering, will be unveiled at an intimate gathering in Hong Kong during the height of the holiday season.
The demi-couture collection is an homage to the eponymous legendary 16th century Rajput princess, wed to the powerful Mughal prince, Akbar. Jodha was renowned for her beauty, sophistication and bravado - and those attributes inform the aesthetic of the line.
The debut collection of JODHA, 'Episode One', conveys the rich and elaborate sensibility of the Rajput era, fused with a thoroughly streamlined and modern sensibility. Intricate embroideries in delicate floral patterns, a flash of vivid shades tempered with muted beading, and feminine silhouettes that flatter the form are all part of the defining attributes of JODHA.
The brand was co-created by Shanti Sadhwani, a graduate of Boston's Babson College, in conjunction with her mother, Angelina Sadhwani and aunt, Lavina Sadhwani. Combined, the family has had decades' of experience in the luxury retail sector through ventures in fashion, couture-level embroideries and fine jewellery.
"We are passionate about occasion wear, and will cater to an occasion season rather than a mainstream fashion season," said chief designer, Shanti Sadhwani. "Our customers like variety and having choices. Our debut offering will show diversity in colour and silhouette."
'Episode One' will encompass 37 pieces in US sizes 4 and 8. Prices will range from US$400 to US$1,200. Pieces will be available for purchase and special order at the private launch event, at a forthcoming series of trunk shows and on www.jodhathelabel.com.
